Jawbreakers for Eyes
by Katherine Iwagami
i have buried myself in the half-dug grave i can smell the mold the blood the rain wrapping exhaustion around me, i ask myself why i decided to dig it up again in the first place. you will look at me with slight interest like middleschoolers on a field trip to the museum. i, a stuffed fox jawbreakers for eyes rubik’s cube lodged in throat mangled hind leg, petrified. you will look at me with cartoonish eyes caught and conquered.
